This year’s fair will start on 29 November and the dish will be served until 26 December. Christmas Market in Krakow has become a permanent feature of this city, a tradition that largely affects the cultural and economic development of Krakow. Christmas markets are not only stalls set around the Adam Mickiewicz monument, but also accompanying events such as music concerts, a contest of cribs, carol procession or the possibility of a lances for the incumbent president of the city
Krakow Christmas Market uniqueness
Krakow Christmas Market offers a wide range of Christmas products and delicacies. Every year there is more of that and it is impossible to name everything we get here. The trade itself is accompanied by numerous events, such as for example: Carolingian Parade, Rite of Polish Forefathers’ Eve, presentations of the Municipalities of Małopolska, or wafer meetings. It is also worth noting that in accordance with tradition, this year’s edition of the Krakow Cribs Competition will also be held at the Adam Mickiewicz monument.
For a few weeks before Christmas, the area around the Cloth Hall is decorated with dozens of stalls where you can buy hand-painted baubles and other Christmas tree ornaments, ceramic and wooden goods, jewellery or unique souvenirs, which are the work of Polish, Lithuanian, Slovak, Dutch or German craftsmen.
Visitors to the Christmas Fair can also taste the best Polish dishes, regional specialties or aromatic mulled wine, and also take part in numerous accompanying events, such as a meeting with Santa Claus, a nativity scene contest, Christmas concerts, carol singing or a great carol procession.
